Guillaume Morel is a Professor in Robotics at Sorbonne University, where he heads ISIR, the Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique, the largest French academic robotics lab.
He has created and lead the first French accredited curriculum of Engineers in Robotics (2008), the first medical robotics research team within the National Health Research Institute (INSERM, 2014) and a “Carnot Interfaces”, a Transfer Research Institute grouping 800 researchers (2016). As an expert in the sensor-based control of robots and its applications to surgical and assistive robotics, he has developed numerous translation projects involving medical experts, engineering researchers and industrialists (e.g. GE Healthcare, Haption, Endocontrol, Koelis, GEMA life, MaunaKea Technology, SpineGuard, Moon Surgical).
