Prof Weber is the scientific founder and CEO of CASCINATION AG, a leader in image-guided, minimally-invasive interventional therapies for solid tumour treatments in hepatopancreatobiliary organs (CAS-One IR®) and task-autonomous robotic cochlear implantation surgery in the deaf (HEARO®).

CAS-One IR® and HEARO® are products from over a decade of translational research carried out by Prof Weber in his role as Professor for Image-Guided Therapy and Director of the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bern (Switzerland).

Prof Weber received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from the University of Ilmenau (Germany), and completed his doctoral studies in Augmented Reality Applications in Medicine at the Charité University Hospital and the Humboldt-University Berlin (Germany).

He held a Fullbright Scholarship at the Robotics Lab of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (U.S.A.). Prof Weber is the author and inventor of over 160 scientific publications and patents. He is the president of the German Society for Robot and Computer Aided Surgery (CURAC) and a member of the IEEE.
